Intermediate Topic 19 of 50 Mobile, Embedded & IoT

ADC and DAC

Converters between analog and digital domains.

How it works

An ADC samples analog voltage into n-bit numbers (a 10-bit ADC has 1024 levels; resolution = Vref/2ⁿ); a DAC does the reverse; sampling rate must satisfy Nyquist.

Where it is used

Reading sensors, generating audio.

Common pitfall

Aliasing without filters and reference voltage errors.

Where it fits in the course

ADC and DAC is topic 19 of 50 in Mobile, Embedded & IoT, rated Intermediate. It follows Analog vs Digital Signals. The next topic is PWM.
