Beginner Topic 16 of 52 Data Structures
Tree Traversals
Visiting nodes in preorder, inorder, postorder or level order.
How it works
Preorder visits node then children, inorder visits left, node, right, postorder visits children then node, and level-order uses a queue to go breadth-first. All visit each node once in O(n).
Where it is used
Inorder on a BST yields sorted order; postorder deletes trees safely; preorder copies them.
Common pitfall
Deep recursion on skewed trees overflows the stack; use an explicit stack.
Where it fits in the course
