Advanced Topic 35 of 51 Security & Cryptography
Elliptic Curve Cryptography
Public-key crypto with small keys based on curve math.
How it works
ECC uses points on curves over finite fields where discrete logarithms are hard, giving security equal to RSA with much smaller keys (256-bit ECC ≈ 3072-bit RSA). Used in ECDSA, ECDH, Ed25519.
Where it is used
Mobile, TLS, Bitcoin.
Common pitfall
Bad curves or random nonces leak private keys.
Where it fits in the course
Elliptic Curve Cryptography is topic 35 of 51 in Security & Cryptography, rated Advanced. It follows OWASP Top Ten. The next topic is Zero-Knowledge Proofs.
